Our Farm

Our orchards lie on the alluvial plain between the mountains and the valley floor, in Ortaca, Muğla. This geography gives pomegranate three things at once: a wide day-to-night temperature swing, well-drained alluvial soil, and a long sunny season.

The difference between night and day

For the arils to turn deep red and for the sugar-acid balance to settle, the nights must be cool. Our position at the foot of the mountains provides this naturally; nothing has to be done to bring out the colour.

Soil

The plain is alluvial and deep. Pomegranate roots dislike standing water; this soil drains quickly, which keeps root rot risk low.

Pastures

We use the sloping land beyond the orchards as pasture. Our flock grazes there, and in doing so keeps the weeds between the orchard rows in check.

The facility

Our pressing and bottling facility sits among the orchards. Harvested fruit reaches it in minutes — the single most important detail in keeping it fresh.
